A kiosk employee in the Exarchia area of Athens was taken to hospital on Monday afternoon after being injured during an armed robbery, police said.
During the incident, the perpetrators reportedly stabbed the 50-year-old man, a Bangladeshi national, in the leg.
Police officers arrived at the scene and provided first aid in an effort to stop the bleeding before emergency medical services took over.
The victim was transferred to the Red Cross Hospital, where he needed to undergo surgery.
