Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni participated in a meeting on Corfu on Wednesday with representatives of local government, tourism-sector chambers of commerce, and others from the Ionian Islands to discuss tourism sector issues.
Discussion focused on sustainable tourism development and strengthening the islands’ resilience through infrastructure upgrades, aiming to develop tourism and extend the tourist season.
Issues of immediate priority were also addressed, including the smooth operation of international airports and the efficient processing of British visitors at passport control, given that the UK is the leading source market for inbound tourism to Greece.
