A man wanted in Serbia for alleged participation in a string of gangland morders has been arrested in southern Athens, authorities said Tuesday.
A police statement said the 40-year-old suspect was taken into custody in Voula on April 2, on the basis of an international arrest warrant from Serbia.
He is alleged to have belonged to a criminal organization between early 2019 and the end of 2022 and to have participated in murders of members of other criminal groups dealing in drugs, firearms and explosives.
Police said the suspect used a fake passport and kept changing addresses to avoid detection in Greece.
