Wild boars have appeared in a suburb of Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, in the latest such case observed in residential areas of major cities around the country.
A video taken by a resident of Panorama on Monday night, wild boars were seen prowling a street between houses and next to parked vehicles.
A few days ago wild boars were spotted on Egnatia Street, another major thoroughfare of the city, at the intersection with Papafis, near the metro station.
In recent years, wild boars, wolves and foxes are increasingly appearing in urban areas, troubling residents and farmers. With declining livestock farming, rural areas became abandoned, and wildlife moved into populated areas, seeking food and water.
