Travel receipts increased by 19.7% in October, reaching 2.176 billion euros, compared to €1.82 billion in the same month last year.
That was mainly thanks to the increase in incoming travel traffic by 8.6%, as well as in the average expenditure per trip by 10.7%. In the January-October 2024 period receipts increased by €1.094 billion or 5.5% and amounted to €20.935 billion.
The growth in receipts in the 10-month period is attributed only to the rise in incoming travel traffic by 9.2%, as the average expenditure per trip decreased by 4.3%.
Greece’s travel receipts had already exceeded total 2023 receipts by October.
