Traffic restrictions are in place until 11 a.m. Sunday in much of central Athens to allow a foot race in the streets surrounding the Pedion Areos park, police said.
In addition to the affected roads and side-streets being closed to motorists, parking bans will be in force there, while the Patission Avenue-bound side of Alexandras Avenue will be blocked off between the junctions with Moustoxidi and Mavrommataion streets.
The other streets affected by the restrictions for the 9th Pedion Areos run are Mavrommataion, Evelpidon, Moustoxidi, Valtinon, Bouschou, Pringiponisson, Aglaofondos, Megaloupoleos, Gyzi, Momferatou, P. Ieremiou, Lomvardou and Vamvaka.
The restrictions will apply to all side-streets of the above up to the first parallel street.
