Greek police participated in the European Joint Action Day targeting organized property crime. Coordinated by Frontex and Europol, the operation took place from October 7-18, engaging 20 EU countries and seven non-EU partners.
Greece conducted intensive vehicle and identity checks at border crossings and other areas, including Thessaloniki and Athens.
The effort identified 174 stolen or forged vehicles in Greece, while 462 were recovered Europe-wide. Greek authorities also apprehended 135 migrants without documentation and 16 traffickers. Seized items also included small quantities of drugs. This aligns with the EU’s EMPACT crime prevention framework, showcasing Greece’s pivotal role in the multinational effort.
